So after thinking about a post done today by [info]jamie2109 , I want to know this: what are the stories that have been recently written that should be a considered classics? Which story do you find to be so insanely well written that it should be considered a classic even though it doesn't get enough love? I'm thinking more in the line of the last four or less years. Even earlier if there really is a gem that never got the exposure it deserved.

My opinion?

[info]derryere 's My Old Ways. The only tag I have for it is literally the word 'amazing'
http://asylums.insanejournal.com/hp_yule_balls/31791.html

And also [info]megyal's Tip of the Icing simply for being one of best written "makes-you-feel-crazy-happy" fics.

And there are so many more. Any other opinions community?

If a friend or relative makes a racist or homophobic remark, do you tend to confront them or let it slide? Are you more likely to confront them if it offends you directly or someone else who seems reluctant to speak up?

I do correct the homophobic remarks with a "I had no idea ---whatever they called gay--- had a sexual orientation!" That normally gets them to see calling stuff 'gay' is ignorant, and will flip off an apology. Even though it probably will happen again. I am so guilty of not correcting my family if they say a racist remark towards whites. I normally do the "Really --insert member's name---?" Making my displeasure known is not the same as telling them why it's wrong. Although I do get onto them if it's a Mexican/Middle Eastern/Asian remark. I always feel like I have to stick up for the minority.

I have far to go.

There are many roads to LiveJournal—how did you first hear about LJ?

I was actually googling Across the Universe for icons/images when this 'Live Journal' thing kept appearing. I thought 'Why not', joined and have been a member for close to 2 years now.

Matt Lewis (of HP fame) and his ex-roommate do these little challenge things and basically crack me up. It's so funny to watch their youtube vids and read them bash each other.

Do I have a thing for them now? Oh yes. Strangely enough anyway.

Two posts in a week. Crazy.

As this is Spring Break '09, I've decided to do some serious work. Like do real spring cleaning and such. Might be able to see the bottom of my closet by the end of the week. I've also decided now is prime time to finish that fic I started. It seems like it could be the first semi-decent, borderline good fic I've ever written. There's just a bit of an issue regarding the characterization of Draco. For a character who can be written a hundred ways and still be recognizable as a canon character, I sure as hell can't write him with ease.

Whatever.

I've been sick as well and all the meds have been killing me. You wake up, take a pill that makes you sleepy and fall back asleep. Repeat process. Today is the first day since like Friday that I can actually inhale through my nose. Hooray.

Read this story about the Wal-Mart shooting scandal. There was a text going around saying there was going to be a shooting at Wal-Mart like last week. I actually thought that was just going around my town. Strange (and rather disgusting) how false threats of crime get around. On a brighter note, Colbert won that space-station naming contest. I know there's no way NASA will let it pass, but it still brought a smile to my face. Oh the power of fake political pundits.

Gay Robot of course! Look him up on youtube if you haven't already had the pleasure.

Distrust of the media has grown to the point where many people only trust the news if it comes from a comedian. Who do you trust more: Stephen Colbert or Jon Stewart?

I am a proud member of the Colbert Nation. Love Stewart, prefer Colbert. Anyone who changes the pronounciation of a word to match their name is awesome in my book.

Title: Fires and Family

Author: fauxpersonae007

Rating: PG for mild language

Pairing: Harry/Draco

Word Count: 2720

Disclaimer: Not mine. But a fangirl can dream right?
Summary: Draco really can't do anything right. At least his heart's in the right place. Most of the time anyway.

Warnings: Nothing bad in the story. Not betaed.

Notes: This is not a sequel from Slightly Late Dinner. I just had them keep the jobs I created last time. I wrote this a long time ago and decided to post it on a whim. So I hope you like it. Comments are welcomed. Now on to the fic.

I'm super excited about this film. Like, you don't even know. Even if it didn't have Tom Felton in it, it looks good. Tom is just a bonus. Even with that weird haircut. http://www.thedisappearedthemovie.com

Well, this is my first attempt at H/D. I think it comes off slightly fluffy, but comment your thoughts back.
